What the CafeOS KDS includes

Built for speed. Built for any kitchen.

Real-time order updates

New orders appear on the display the instant a customer places them — no page refresh, no manual refresh button.

🎨

Colour-coded by status

Orders change colour as they age: new, preparing, ready, served. Kitchen staff see at a glance what needs attention.

📱

Works on any device

Run the KDS on a cheap tablet, an old laptop, or any smart TV with a browser. No proprietary hardware required.

One-tap item completion

Kitchen staff tap an item to mark it done. When all items in an order are done, the order auto-advances to served.

🔗

Connected to QR and POS

Orders from QR table scanning and staff POS all appear on the same display. One unified board for your kitchen.

Common questions

What device do I need for the KDS?
Any device with a modern browser: an iPad, Android tablet, old laptop, or any smart TV with a browser. There is no minimum spec requirement. Many venues use a cheap £80 Android tablet mounted near the pass.
What happens if the internet goes down?
Like any cloud-based system, CafeOS requires an internet connection. We recommend a dedicated Wi-Fi network in the kitchen. For resilience, a mobile hotspot as backup keeps things running during brief outages.
Can I have multiple kitchen display screens?
Yes. Open the KDS URL on as many screens as you need. All screens receive the same live orders. You can place one at the grill, one at the bar, and one at the pass.
Does it replace my kitchen printer entirely?
For most venues, yes. CafeOS KDS replaces the need for a kitchen printer. If you have an existing printer you want to keep, you can continue using it for paper records alongside the KDS.
